The Pope is coming to New York City to bless everyone in attendance at Yankee stadium. Artie a zookeeper wants the pope's blessing to institutionalize his wife and run off to California with his mistress and start a new life writing music for movies and TV. Artie's son Ronnie who has gone AWOL from the army has plans to blow up the pope with a makeshift bomb. A satire about dreams and disappointment, at times sweet, hilarious, and ultimately heartbreaking.
