MONUMENT UNVEILING

In time for LSC-Montgomery Native American Heritage Month, LSC-Montgomery will be unveiling the Native American Monument in conjunction with the Office of Culture and Engagement.

The monument is a powerful reminder of our acknowledgment of all American peoples who have lived in this region, especially the Coahuiltecan, Akokisa, Koasati (Coushatta), and Alabama Tribes. The monument has significance on many different levels and offers multiple learning opportunities. This marks LSC-Montgomery's commitment to work with and for our community.

Unveiling of the monument will start at noon at the landmark placed between buildings E and F, followed by a reception at the MCC where attendees can enjoy a cultural performance by the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe.
