This special tribute concert honors the life and legacy of acclaimed composer, arranger, and Big Phat Band founder Gordon Goodwin (1954–2025). Audiences will experience an evening of vibrant big band jazz featuring classic swing, Brazilian-inspired grooves, and Cuban-influenced rhythms — all hallmarks of Goodwin’s infectious style. From writing his first chart in seventh grade to earning four Grammy Awards, Goodwin’s career reflects a lifelong passion for jazz composition and bold, innovative arranging. His music continues to inspire musicians and audiences alike with its brilliant orchestration, dynamic brass writing, and boundless optimism.
